I love referrals. My wedding and portrait photography business is based on it. I love my clients, who often become good friends. And I love to show my gratitude to my friends by offering something in return.

I have had this policy in affect for some time now, but wanted to actively publicize it here :)

Any client who refers a wedding to me (and the couple books their wedding photography though me) receives a FREE portrait session PLUS a $150 print credit.** That's a $245 value. And for each additional wedding client referred, earn an additional $100 print or album credit. Pretty good stuff!!!

Current wedding clients may use their referral credit to upgrade their package.

**Portrait sessions must take place within 60 miles of Gulfport, Mississippi (and will inlcude New Orleans). Sessions can be family portrait sessions, newborn portrait sessions, Senior portraits, etc. Referral credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred. Referral credits expire 6 months from award date. New England referrals may still receive portrait sessions, although availability is limited.

To know Nathan, is to know a real tough young man. Nathan was born with a congenital heart defect. As a very young child he endured multiple heart surgeries, only to learn he also suffered from Congenital Kyphosis. Which meant more surgeries. You wouldn't know it by looking at him. He's full of life and courage. we could all learn a valuable lesson by knowing his story, Nathan's Prayer.

His mother, Karen, is a talented writer, hoping to one day publish their story. Until then, Parent's magazine chose to share some of their story in the July 2010 edition of the magazine. Find the story online here.

Well, you've been calling and asking and emailing to find out when I would start booking the holiday mini sessions. Well, the time is here!!

Holiday Mini Sessions, Day One, Beach sessions:
Thursday, October 29th
(rain date - Monday, November 2nd)

2:30pm, 3:00pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:00pm, 5:30pm

Holiday Mini Sessions, Day Two, Studio/Backyard sessions:
Thursday, November 5th
Six Slots Available
2:00pm, 2:45pm, 3:30pm, 4:15pm, 5:00pm, 5:45pm

Book the October date if you want a beach session, book the November date if you prefer a studio backdrop (choose from plain white, grey, or modern black and white) or greenery (from my backyard). If these sessions book up quickly, I may add a third date/location for an urban setting.

Full payment is required to reserve your spot. Upon booking you will receive what-to-wear information, a list of available card designs, and a phone consultation.

The beach sessions are outdoor and available light. So punctuality is key.

*Price includes 5x5 or 5x7 flat greeting card, folded greeting cards with inside spread are extra. White envelopes included. Add $100 for an additional 50 cards. Cards will be delivered between Thanksgiving and December 1st.

There are over 40 card designs to choose from. Already had a session with Tilley Photography this year and want to use an existing image? It's just $125 for 25 cards, $175 for 50 cards, or $275 for 100! Holiday card orders are due November 5th.

Out of the office, and other info

I will be in Boston this weekend, returning Monday, for a wedding at the Harvard Club. I will not have access to my email, so please call my cell if you need to contact me.

Second, I am completely booked for September, and I only have two sessions available in October, so contact me ASAP if you need a session by then.

I will be holding Holiday Mini Sessions the last week of October and the first week of November. I haven't solidified the dates and details, but I will only have 12 available spots. One session will be held in my home, the other on the beach.

I have the greatest job in the world!

I really do. I have the greatest job in the world. Look at this little guy and tell me its possible not to get a great photo of this baby. Truly. He was the perfect little angel. And he let us do all kinds of things with him while he slept. It's such a joy to be a part of people's happiest moments. Engagements, weddings, babies, families. It truly is always an honor when someone asks me to photograph the special moments in their lives.

We're taking family pictures WHERE?

Okay, so most people might think I'm weird. They schedule me for a family portrait and I tell them to meet me by an alley. I think they start to wonder if they should do a background check on me. But no, I have a clean record :)

I like color and texture and being a little different. That doesn't mean I don't do beach or park pictures. But sometimes, I like to mix things up a bit. And city scapes have just what I'm looking for; and yes, sometimes that means you may be taking your family portrait in an alley. Only if you want to of course, but I dare you to give it a try. You might like it.

I knew this family would be all for it. My camera LOVED these kids!! What little models! I hope I get to photograph them more often!!!

Misses "L" was next. She's very a very special baby girl, and I was honored to photograph her. We didn't get a lot of time together, because like many 4-month-old's she was ready for her nap. Hopefully her parents will bring her back for her 6-month session (and we can make it earlier, so it doesn't interfere with her beauty sleep)

Finally, another VERY special family. Misses "F" and Mr. "S". Misses "F" was my little angel of the day. She is a special miracle. "F" was born with Trisomy 18, and she is defying the odds and becoming quite the little lady, I must say! And her brother "S" loves her very much and held her for a brother and sister portrait.
