Sheila and Kevin, Ocean Springs Mississippi Wedding Photography

You may think from my lack of posts that I have fallen off the face of the earth ;)

Nah, but with the increased popularity of Facebook, I have been posting all of my recent work and happenings on my facebook page over at www.facebook.com/tilleyphotography

That being said!!  I would love to tell you that 2012 turned out to be my biggest year yet.  With 43 weddings in 2012, I was knee deep in weddings and loving every minute of it.  Wedding Photography is my passion and I'm so blessed to have such an amazing job and have the opportunity to work with so many amazing couples.  Now that 2013 is underway, I'm hunkering down for wedding season with 21 weddings in the next 16 weeks!!!

One of my fall couples, Sheila and Kevin, were married at St. Alphonsus in Ocean Springs, MS with their reception at the Sacred Heart Center at Nativity in Biloxi, Mississippi.  Sheila has been very involved with the Bliss Weddings Cafe in Gulfport and also has her own awesome blog over at http://theprojectchick.blogspot.com/

Sheila had her bridals in Ocean Springs at the Walter Anderson Museum and then under a beautiful oak tree.  Susie Davis from a Plan to Remember help Sheila plan the wedding.  Flowers were by Megan Carty and cake by Melissa's Specialty Cakes.  Here are a few of my favorites:

Jane's Bridals - Pass Christian, MS

I'm sure I say this about every bride.. but Jane has to be one of my favorite brides of all time. She is just always smiling and has been a pleasure from start to finish. Its one of the reasons I just love being a wedding photographer.

Her April wedding ceremony was held at Our Lady of the Gulf in Bay St. Louis with her reception at the Pass Christian Yacht Club in Pass Christian, MS.

I always suggest my wedding photography clients opt for a bridal session, since it allows us the time to give that amazing bridal gown all the glory it deserves. And I'm so glad Jane decided to get bridals done. We have so many great locations here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and Jane chose the Pass Christian Harbor and OLG.

It was a foggy day, and I wasn't sure how the harbor pictures would turn out, but Jane was determined to get those harbor pictures and I'm so glad she insisted. There was fog, sure - but it made for some dreamy pictures!!!

Enjoy! Jane and Jacob's wedding photography pictures to soon follow!

Sara and Larry - Seaport Hotel, Boston Wedding Photography

Here's a slideshow from Sara and Larry's amazing wedding at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. It's always such an honor to be chosen as someone's wedding photographer. And I love travelling back to Boston any chance I can get. Enjoy!

Meagan and Luke, Part One - Mississippi Gulf Coast Wedding Photography

Meagan and Luke chose to have an elegant winter wonderland-themed wedding reception at the new Bay St. Louis community center. Meagan choose beautiful flowers and colors for a winter wedding.

Meagan and Luke got ready at the Bay St. Louis Community Center, where they also had their first look. A great option in December when the sun sets so early. The nuptuals took place at Michael Memorial Baptist Church in Gulfport, MS and then back to the Bay Saint Louis Community Hall for the reception.

Everything, and I do mean everything, was provided by Trica Shankle from Mississippi Cook'n and Cater'n out of Grenada, MS. They took care of the event design, flowers, food, cake, centerpieces... like I said - everything :) with inspiration and ideas from Meagan of course.

Three generations! I love this photo!

New Year - New Space!

Happy New Year!!!!!

Bliss Wedding Cafe

Yes, I know - it's been a few months since I've posted. But only because I've been blessed with a wonderful 2011 filled with weddings and newborn sessions and families! While I love to blog and share recent work - my clients come first and getting their images and products on time had to come before my love of blogging.

But I hope you are still here and interested in keeping up with us in 2012! I imagine you all had a wonderful holiday and new years!

Soooooo - for the exciting news! Tilley Photography has joined forces with the Bliss Bridal Cafe and we have opened an office in Gulfport, MS. It's the one and only Bridal and Wedding lounge on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Some of the best wedding vendors on the gulf coast are a part of Bliss. What is a Bridal Lounge you ask? Great question!

So first... wedding vendors are often working out of their home. They are real licensed businesses, but without a "storefront" as you might call it. Before Bliss, as my clients know, I often met potential brides at a coffee shop (hence Wedding 'cafe') as did many of my peers. But I'm ready to take my business to the next level.

Second - the part where you come in - Bliss is for BRIDES! Brides are searching the internet and facebook for ideas, wedding vendors, and inspiration. And that search can be overwhelming. Bliss is a place where brides can come (for free of course) and look through listings of some of the top wedding vendors on the coast.

Are you looking for a caterer? You could spend days searching on the internet, emailing caterers, waiting for them to email you back sample menues. Or you can come to Bliss. Pick up the binder for caterers and see all their menus in one place.

We will have a directory for wedding vendors in all areas, so you can find everything you need in one spot.

Also, instead of trecking across the coast to meet your photographer in Pass Christian ;) (because I'm sure I'm your photographer, right) and then over to Pascagoula to meet with the DJ - you can schedule you appointments in one place.

We hope you will stop by. Give me a call anytime and let us know you'd like to take a tour of the cafe. Pick up your free gift and begin to be inspired!!

I hope 2012 brings everyone much love and many smiles!!!

Wedding Photographer or Storm Chaser?

Yes, I know - where have I been? The answer is - all over! The summer has been a busy one, travelling to Boston for a few weddings, to New York City and Long Island, back to Boston for my best friends bachelorette celebration and then back again to Boston for a Labor Day Weekend wedding. Not to mention photographing weddings in New Orleans, Tupelo, Meridian and South Mississippi. Did I mention it's been a busy summer?

So, can we talk about the storms for just a moment? I swear they were following me!! First Hurricane Irene followed me to Boston. Then coming back home after Labor Day I flew right into Tropical Storm Lee. Yes, that's right. The plane landed in New Orleans during a tropical storm. It was a frightening landing, white knuckles and all. Who knew being a wedding photographer would coincide with storm chasing. The hazards of the job, I guess.

You can see pictures from Crystal and Jame's wedding at the New England Aquarium on my facebook page here. The week before that I was at the Andover Country Club celebrating with Melanie and Ryan here. I have so much to blog, but so little time to do it, but wanted to say hello and leave you with the above sneak peak from Sara and Larry's wedding at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. More coming very soon. (Really. Soon. I promise).
